Puddingstone Terracotta
Each piece of Puddingstone TerraCotta is made at Cleves home studio in Decatur Mi, from his own recipe utilizing different clay bases from Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Each piece of Puddingstone TerraCotta is fired in a traditional English style to 2,130 degrees fahrenheit to ensure strength and durability. At those temperatures, the silica in the clay begins to melt and turn to glass in a process called ‘vitrification’. This makes the clay waterproof and stops any sort of water seeping out, No amount of scrubbing, washing or disinfecting will affect the structural integrity of the piece, ensuring that it will last and easily be able to be passed on
